Dr. Oscar Luna

Dr. Oscar A. Luna DDS

Dr. Oscar Luna is the founder of Culmore Pediatric Dentistry. He recognized the need for a more modern approach to caring for children’s oral health versus traditional practices to just “clean teeth” or “fill cavities”. He firmly believes in a proactive method based on prevention and education.

Dr. Luna is an experienced and highly trained pediatric dentist who has been in private practice in the Washington Metropolitan Area since 2002. His local roots go back to 1987, when he attended George Mason University. Dr. Luna earned his dental degree at The University of San Andres, La Paz, Bolivia, where he was a faculty member for 12 years He was a lecturer and gave many conferences across his country. Besides that, he was in private practice with his father, a well known oral surgeon. He was the former president of the Pediatric Dental Society (1999-2001) La Paz, Bolivia. In addition, he is a co-author of two clinical articles published at Quintessence International Journal.

Dr. Luna received his specialty degree in pediatric dentistry from The University of Southern California, Los Angeles (USC). He also earned a preceptorship certificate in Orthodontics and General Dentistry from The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). In addition to his practice in pediatric dentistry, he has been a faculty member at The University of Maryland, School of Dentistry. Dr. Luna   has 20 years of experience in pediatric dentistry and is highly qualified in conscious sedation and behavior management techniques because of his background in clinical psychology. He is also a certified dental laser provider.

He also earned certificates in Orthodontics from Progressive Orthodontics Seminars (2 years) and Academy of GP orthodontics (2 years).
